London was our first stop. We landed at noon and spent a couple hours on the tube getting Misty to Victoria Station and our hotel room. She still wasn't feeling very good. After an hour in the room, we ventured out to Westminster bridge. Misty still was not feeling well, so we returned to the hotel. She napped while Pete went to McDonald's for dinner. Pete also hiked up to Buckingham Palace that night.
The next morning Misty was feeling much better, so we took the double decker bus tour around London. We got off the bus in time to catch the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. After that we grabbed some lunch and hit the British Museum. You can tell Britian was/is a world power. They have stolen artifacts from everyone. They have everything from the Rosetta Stone to most of the artwork on the Parthenon.
The next day we hit the Tower of London. It is awesome to see things built almost 1000 years ago. William the Conqueror was crowned in the White Tower in 1066! In the afternoon, we visited the British Library. This was one of our favorite places in London. The Magna Carta, Gutenburg Bible, Da Vinci's notebook, and original hand written lyrics of Beattle's songs. Hard Days Night was written on the back of a birthday card. There were tons of cool things there. That evening we went to Yo! Sushi for dinner. It is the world's longest sushi bar. It was a blast, but spendy. We both ate too much!
The next day was Westminster Abbey. We took the tour and saw where many of England kings and queens are buried, as well as Chaucer, Newton, and Darwin. We both thought is was weird Darwin was buried in a chruch. After running around town a little, we went to St. Paul's that afternoon. We took the tour, and then hiked up the steps to the dome for a great view of London.
We were off to Paris on the chunnel train the next morning.
